 The dimensions of the inner and outer rings of crossed roller bearings are miniaturized, and the ultra-thin type is close to the limit of small size. It has high rigidity and can reach high-precision grades. The rolling elements of crossed roller bearings are cylindrical rollers or tapered rollers, arranged vertically at 90° to each other in a V-shaped raceway. The rollers are separated by cages or spacers. This structure allows each set of bearings to withstand axial load, radial load and overturning moment. Characteristics of crossed roller bearings:

The internal structure of crossed roller bearings uses rollers arranged perpendicularly at 90° to each other. There are retainers or spacers installed between the rollers, which can prevent the tilt of the rollers and reduce the mutual friction between the rollers, effectively preventing the increase of rotation torque. In addition, compared with using a steel plate cage, there will be no contact or locking on one side of the roller; at the same time, the inner and outer rings are separate structures, so the gap can be adjusted, and high-precision rotational motion can be obtained even if preload is applied.

The outer ring or inner ring that is separated into two parts is fixed together after the rollers and retainers are installed, so it is easier and simpler to install.

The rollers are arranged vertically to each other through spacers on the rolling surface of 90° V-groove raceway. This design allows the crossed roller bearing to withstand larger axial load, radial load, overturning moments, etc.
