BRZB produces a range of super-precision cylindrical roller bearings, available in both single row and double row configurations, across three distinct design series. These bearings are designed to handle axial shifts of the shaft in relation to the housing in either direction. One of the key features of these bearings is their separable nature; the ring containing the roller and cage assembly can be detached from the opposing ring. This design facilitates easier installation and removal, especially in scenarios where both rings need to be tightly fitted due to load conditions.
BRZB N 10 series of super-precision single row cylindrical roller bearings (see (fig. 1)) come standard with a 1:12 tapered bore, denoted by the suffix ‘KR’. This tapered bore is advantageous for precise clearance or preload adjustments during installation. These bearings feature dual integral flanges on the inner ring and are devoid of flanges on the outer ring. Upon request, a lubrication hole can be added to the outer ring to enhance lubricant flow.
For specific applications like the non-tool end of a motorized spindle, where speed takes precedence over rigidity, bearings with half the number of rollers is available upon request.
Both series can be ordered with either a cylindrical or a 1:12 tapered bore (suffix KR), with the latter being the preferred choice in machine tool applications for more precise clearance or preload adjustments.
To optimize lubrication, all NNU 49 series bearings and NN 39 series bearings with a bore diameter of d ≥ 100 mm feature an annular groove and four lubrication holes in the outer ring (see (fig. 4), suffix E44).
Bearings lacking an annular groove and lubrication holes are typically lubricated with either a minimal amount of grease or precisely metered small quantities of oil or oil-air. In such cases, the lubricant is administered through a side-positioned nozzle (see (fig. 5), suffix W33).
For NN 30 series bearings with a bore diameter of d ≤ 130 mm requiring an annular groove, nozzle and lubrication holes, early consultation with BRZB is advised.
Bearings with Pre-Ground Raceway
For applications demanding extremely high running accuracy, BRZB suggests installing the flangeless inner ring of an NNU 49 series bearing onto the shaft, followed by finish-grinding the inner ring raceway and other shaft diameters in a single operation. BRZB offers these bearings with a tapered bore and a finish-grinding allowance on the inner ring raceway (Prefix U).
